| This well proportioned polished black slate flat top mantle clock has gold filled floral engraving to the upper and lower front, and to the sides and spandrel corners of the dial. It has inlaid light brown marble side posts and a similar marble inlay to the base.
The 3 ½” black dial has gilt Roman numerals and gilt fleur de lis hands. The dial has a gilt beveled edge glazed bezel and gilt dial surround.
The spring driven brass eight day time and strike movement has Brocot suspension and strikes the hour and half hour on a rear mounted gong.
The movement is stamped by the maker Japy Freres France
